Edmond Brown is one of the most experienced criminal defence lawyers in Peel Region. Ed has been a lawyer in Ontario for over 40 years. His law practice is restricted to criminal law, and he has argued significant criminal cases at the Supreme Court of Canada and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Ed has been counsel on thousands of trials and has conducted over 200 jury trials. For 10 years, he was also a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney in Peel, Toronto, Halton and Durham regions. Ed is the past President of the Peel Criminal Lawyers Association.
As a Brampton lawyer he is familiar with the way the Brampton courthouse functions, and is well acquainted with the Judges, Crowns and Court staff. Edmond enjoys defending his clients at trial. In one case he made the Crown take the Court all the way to Ghana in West Africa to prove the accused was an adult and not a youth in a murder case.
For the last 20 years his office has been close to the Brampton Court House. He can be found there almost every day defending people accused of crimes. Edmond Brown is authorized by Legal Aid to accept legal aid certificates for extremely serious offences and also is on the Aboriginal Panel for Legal Aid Ontario.
